Carlos R. Harris
My name is Carlos Harris, and I thank you for reading my story. My story is my truth and my peace, it gives me hope that one day justice will be served and I will be reunited with my children and family.
I have been incarcerated for 20 years, for crimes that I did not commit. I am not perfect nor without faults but I am INNOCENT. African American men are guilty until proven innocent in our society. Our justice system scales are imbalanced convicting the innocent and those who can not afford experienced legal representation. Our judicial system caters to people who hold prejudices and have political agendas and at times hide behind the law never seeking justice at all or searching for the truth.
I remain hopeful for my freedom knowing that there are good people in this world that believe in justice and uphold the law of truth. I am determined to prove my innocence and will exhaust every avenue within my power to ensure my freedom. A wise man once said, "In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity."
